In a world awash with cheap quality puzzles with crummy AI images, it's nice to have actual art in a quality form.The puzzle pieces themselves come in a sealed plastic bag with no puzzle dust. The pieces are sharply cut, well glued, and coated with a nice plastic gloss that gives them a bit of weight and demonstrates the quality of the item. In fact, the box it came in uses fancy magnet closure, but they're strong enough to hold all the pieces with the box upside down.The pieces themselves follow a traditional 4-sided piece cut, no unique or special pieces.The only examples of the completed puzzle are on the lid - no poster - and the image is slightly truncated so it doesn't include the full edges. Additionally, this image has an extremely limited color palate and there are many pieces with no distinguishing features and nearly identical coloration, minor differences in gradients. This means even if you use the 3 different "cheats" on the back of the piece (to identify the orientation, the high/low general position and which of the 8 segments it's in) you're still going to have to resort to trial and error.My wife and I did use the cheats; we sorted it up into 8 groups and did each one a bit at a time. We lazily assembled the puzzle, but it still took around 5 or 6 hours (we split it up into 2 days).My only suggestion is that it'd be nice to have an oversized poster to help with the assembly, as we had to keep sharing the box back and forth.

Don't let the beautiful artwork fool you into thinking this one goes together easily. Spent three evenings on this with a friend who does puzzles regularly and we were humbled. The color palette is rich but deliberately complex — lots of areas where similar tones bleed into each other and edge definition isn't as obvious as it looks in the full image. That's not a complaint, it's exactly what you want from a challenging puzzle.The artwork itself is the reason to buy this. Phạm Ngọc Khuyến's style has a painterly depth that translates well at this scale — details you don't notice in the thumbnail reveal themselves as you work through sections. It's one of those puzzles where you genuinely appreciate the art more after finishing it than you did looking at the box.Piece quality is good. Thick enough to handle without bending, clean cuts with no fraying or dusty residue. The fit is snug — pieces lock in with a satisfying click and don't shift around once placed, which matters when you're working on a large section and don't want it falling apart when you move the board.The finish has a slight sheen that helps distinguish similar colored pieces in certain lighting, which is a small but welcome detail on a puzzle this difficult.Sorting by color only gets you so far here — you'll want to sort by shape and edge texture too. Budget more time than you think you need.Framed ours when it was done. A puzzle worth finishing is a puzzle worth keeping.

I debated ordering this puzzle - there is a lot of white and grey space - but I do love foxes. I'm glad the pieces were lettered on the back, so I could work the puzzle in eight sections. I found the orientation arrows helpful, as well as the letters on the back; however, the lighter letters, indicating the piece goes into the upper portion of the puzzle, just made the letters harder for this senior to see. There were no missing pieces and the pieces fit together well.
